A Big Thank-You to the C-Can Crew at McDonald Park!

A huge shout-out to Jeannie Rerick for spotting a problem, making a plan, rounding up a crew, and getting it done! Jeannie took the lead on organizing the fix-up of the C-Can at McDonald Park — and what a transformation!

Thanks also to Grant Rerick (no that’s not Rod Stewart!), Peter Goss, and Eric Hanson for hauling supplies, building shelves, and turning chaos into order. We could all use a little more organization in our lives, and these folks made it look easy (and even a little fun).

The C-Can is now in great shape — tidy, functional, and ready for action. Great job, team!

Thank you Lance and Sue - wishing you much happiness in your new chapter!

Long time members Sue and Lance Jang are bidding farewell to our club for new adventures in the Lower Mainland. They will be missed.  Both have been active members of the club for over 10 years and their positive energy, leadership, laughter and Lance’s boisterous voice will be sorely missed.

Since Sue and Lance joined the club, they have fully supported the club in various ways.  They have been instrumental in introducing many new members to the game of Pickleball and are encouraging to players both on and off the court.  Sue spent a term as secretary on the Board of Directors.  She also volunteered her time at many tournaments and tickled our taste buds with the baking she has provided at different events over the years.  Sue, we will miss your muffins, your smile and your encouraging way of being.

Lance has spent the better part of the last 8 years working with the ratings/club placement committee.  His leadership, insights and practical way of being have helped guide the process through several iterations over the years.  Lance has also been a mentor to many players.  He is both patient and encouraging.  Lance, we will miss your positive energy on the courts and especially when you let us all know when you have missed a shot.  As one member said, the courts will definitely be quieter with Lance not here!

Thank you both for all of you have done for the club.  We will miss you and look forward to hearing about your new adventures.  Have fun with your move and all that this new chapter has to offer you.  All the best.

🎉Welcome Karen Laurillard – Our New Volunteer Maintenance Team Lead!🔧🏓
We’re excited to introduce Karen, our new Volunteer Maintenance Team Lead here at the
club! Jim Davie is officially passing the torch to Karen, who brings serious skills to the
court—she’s an experienced maintenance planner, and she's ready to help keep our facilities
in top shape.

From nets to fences to court surfaces, Karen’s got it covered—but she can’t do it alone!

👉If you notice something that needs fixing
👉Or want to lend a hand with maintenance tasks

Reach out to Karen at maintenance@kamloopspickleballclub.ca—she’d love
to hear from you!

Let’s give her a big pickleball welcome, and a big thank you for stepping up to serve our
community!

We are also so grateful for Jim Davie, for all he has given and continues to give to this club, as
he mentors and supports Karen while she gets settled in - thanks Jim!
